Hemingford Abbots
The client already has a very established garden filled with many shrubs and trees. They were redesigning their drive and had created some new borders that needed to blend in with the current setting but also provide some new interest and update the style of planting. It’s a sheltered and fairly shaded area surrounded by a laurel hedge.
The images show before and after planting. Shrubs were chosen to create continuity of visual language and link with the other borders around the house. Whilst the addition of Anemanthele lessoniana provides some movement through the structural evergreen shrubs. The border is a mix of evergreen and deciduous with spikes of colour provided by the Libertia grandiflora, Acanthus mollis and Astrantia in summer.
