Concept

Worpelsdon View, cares for elderly people who can no longer live on their own, or with their families. My Memorial Garden design provides a stimulating and sensory experience for the residents, as well as a garden for contemplative thought.

The design concept uses the six elements of nature; fire air, earth, water, space, consciousness. Everyone is said to have these six properties. Earth; life on earth, Water gives moisture to all things and nurtures the power of life. Fire; energy, Air, the breath of life, Space; the universe and envelops all things, Consciousness; the life of spirit and wisdom.

A circular symbol depicts the circle of life, so the six garden beds central to the design are laid out in this pattern. At the centre of the design’s “circle of life” lies the water fountain. There are two main seating areas providing space for residents, staff and guests to sit together. The design allows for easy access and navigation without any sharp angles to negotiate.
