Each garden I design is a unique space, not only does it need to reflect your requirements, it also has to work within it’s location and complement the style of house and surroundings.
The design will always come from careful consideration of how you, the client will utilise your garden, how much time you have to maintain it and how you want to enjoy it.
Biodiverse & Dynamic Planting Design
I’m interested in creating an environment that’s rich in biodiversity, adding to nature’s complex ecosystem. Planting appeals to me most when it works within its intended surroundings but also providing a source of food for animals and insects. I like to promote resilient planting that’s suitable to the area and aspect.
Planting designs can be as simple or complex as desired and are used to create a variety of atmospheres in your garden or just a single milieu.
Philosophy
The garden needs to be functional but also aesthetically pleasing. Attention to detail in the hard landscaping is a key factor in creating a good backbone for any garden.
I will nurture the areas that need changing, concentrating on the structure and shape of the garden. I will want to understand the clients inspirations and aspirations for the garden. If the client wishes, I will then create planting plans to work with their lifestyle.
It’s not all about scrap-it and start again, although sometimes that approach is needed and it’s not all about spending hours and hours slavishly working in the garden, unless of course you want to! No project is the same and every garden will be approached as a unique experience and space for the client.
